Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later page or a later visit. Similar technologies — pixels, tags, local storage and software development kits — do much the same job, and everything in this policy applies to them too.

This policy explains what we use on lens9studio.com, why, and how you can control it. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

These make the website work. They handle things like routing your request to our server, keeping the site secure, protecting our forms against abuse, and remembering choices you make during a visit.

The site cannot function properly without them, they are not used to track you across other websites, and they cannot be switched off through a consent tool. You can still block them in your browser, but parts of the site — including the enquiry form — may then stop working.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used — which pages people read, how they arrived, which devices they use, and where they lose interest. This tells us what to improve.

The cookies involved are typically named _ga and _ga_<container-id>, and they last up to two years. They record a randomly generated identifier for your browser rather than your name, and we have no way to identify you personally from analytics data alone.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across every website you visit by installing the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We advertise the Studio on Google and on Meta platforms including Facebook and Instagram. Advertising cookies and pixels let us measure whether those advertisements actually lead to enquiries, and let us show our work again to people who have visited this website. This is what is usually called remarketing.

The identifiers involved typically include:

• _gcl_au — set by Google Ads to measure conversions from our advertisements, lasting around 90 days
• The Google Ads remarketing tag, which allows us to show advertisements to previous visitors across the Google network
• _fbp — set by the Meta Pixel to identify browsers for advertising and measurement, lasting around 90 days
• fr — set by Meta on facebook.com for ad delivery and measurement, lasting around 90 days

Google and Meta set and read these identifiers as independent controllers, and their own privacy policies apply alongside ours. We do not pass your name, email address or phone number to them for advertising purposes.

You can turn off personalised advertising at myadcenter.google.com for Google, and in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Ads for Meta. Industry-wide opt-outs are available at youradchoices.com and optout.aboutads.info.

Some pages embed content hosted elsewhere — most often films hosted on YouTube, and links out to Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. When you load or click that content, the provider may set its own cookies and receive your IP address and other technical data, exactly as if you had visited their site directly.

We do not control those cookies. If you want to know what a provider collects, their privacy policy is the authoritative source.

Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, and block them — either entirely or per site. The controls are usually under Settings, then Privacy.

• Safari — Settings or Preferences, then Privacy
• Firefox — Settings, then Privacy & Security
• Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions

Blocking all cookies will stop analytics and advertising cookies from being set, but may also break parts of this and other websites. Deleting cookies removes any opt-out choices stored as cookies, so you may need to set those preferences again.

Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. There is still no consistent industry standard for responding to these, so we do not currently alter our behaviour based on them. The controls described in this policy remain the reliable way to limit tracking.

The tools we use change from time to time, and cookie names and durations are set by the providers rather than by us. We review this page periodically and update it to keep it accurate. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
